Your essays are yours.

What we collect

• Account info. Name and email address from your Microsoft or Google sign-in.
• Essay content. The drafts, versions, notes, and review feedback you create in the product.
• Profile info. Optional details (grade level, interests, target colleges, background) you provide to personalize theme generation.
• Billing metadata. Subscription status, plan, and renewal dates. Payment details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card.
• Basic usage data. Standard server logs (request paths, error traces) used to keep the service running and debug issues.

How we use it

• To provide the core product: storing and rendering your essays, versions, and reviews.
• To generate structured reviews and suggestions when you request them. Essay content is sent to a language-model provider strictly for the duration of generating your review.
• To manage your subscription and entitlements.
• To respond to support requests.

What we don't do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use your essays to train any models.
• We do not share your essays with third parties except as required to render the product (e.g., the LLM provider for a review you explicitly request).
• We do not run third-party advertising or behavioral tracking on the app.

Your controls

• You can edit your profile data anytime from the Profile page.
• You can delete essays and versions from the product UI.
• You can request full account and data deletion by emailing support@essaystory.app.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through the Stripe Customer Portal linked from the Billing page.
